Cheesy Baked Macaroni Pinoy Style

Ingredients

1 lb. elbow macaroni
2 cups cheese (shredded )
1 lb. ground beef
15 ounces Filipino style spaghetti sauce
1 green bell pepper (chopped)
5 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
1/2 cup water
salt and ground black pepper to taste
3 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups milk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain the liquid and set the macaroni aside (see notes).

Make the meat sauce by browning the beef in a wok. Add onion and garlic. Once the onion softens, add the bell peppers. Sauté. for 1 minute.

Pour the Filipino Style Spaghetti Sauce and water. Continue cooking while stirring for 12 to 15 minutes. Set aside.

Make the white sauce by melting butter in a saucepan. Add all-purpose flour. Stir and cook for 1 minute. Gradually pour milk while stirring. Add half of the cheese. Stir and continue cooking until the sauce thickens.

Combine the macaroni and meat sauce and then pour the white sauce on top. Fold until all the ingredients are well blended.

Arrange the mixture in a baking pan. Spread the remaining cheese on top.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Bake for 15 minutes.
