Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

Cut 1 cup salted butter into small cubes and add them to a large mixing bowl. Add 2 cups all-purpose flour and ¼ cup granulated sugar. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it forms a crumbly dough. Stir in 1/2 cup toffee bitsPress the mixture firmly into prepared pan.

Bake the crust for 22-25 minutes, or until it turns light golden brown.

Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle 2 cups chocolate chips evenly over the hot crust. Sprinkle 1 cup of the toffee bits on top, then drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the entire surface. Finish with the remaining 1/2 cup of toffee bits.

Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 15-17 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned, and the edges are bubbly.

If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top while the bars are still warm. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
