Spaghetti Pie

6 ounces spaghetti (I used a little less than 1/2 of a 16 ounce box)
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
2 eggs
1 cup small curd cottage cheese (could use ricotta)
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 pound mild Italian ground sausage
1/2 medium sized onion (chopped)
14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes (drained)
2 cups tomato and basil pasta sauce (can use your favorite flavor pasta sauce)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
Cook spaghetti according to package directions until reaches al center stage. Remove from stove and drain. Toss with butter and Parmesan cheese. Add eggs and continue tossing.
Place spaghetti in a sprayed deep dish pie pan spreading over bottom and part way up sides. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti and sprinkle on parsley and basil.
Brown sausage and onions in a skillet on top of stove. Drain if needed. Add drained diced tomatoes and pasta sauce and simmer 10 minutes. Pour sausage and tomatoes over cottage cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Remove and add 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Return to oven for 5 minutes to melt cheese.
Makes about 6 to 8 servings.
