1 teaspoon cherry extract

Instructions
Pour 2 cups Dr Pepper into a medium-sized saucepan. Bring it to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and let the liquid reduce down for about 5 to 7 minute, until it has thickened and become a syrup consistency.
Transfer to a small bowl and refrigerate until completely cooled.
In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat 1 cup salted butter until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes.
Add in the cooled Dr. Pepper reduction, 1 tablespoon almond extract and 1 teaspoon cherry extract and mix until combined and smooth.
Add in the powdered sugar 1 cup a time, mixing in between additions until smooth. If you want a smoother, less sturdy frosting, you can add in an additional splash of Dr. Pepper to thin it out.
Frost immediately or store covered in an airtight container.
